How AirDrop works ?
Airdrop is file sharing feature especially for Apple Device. You can share photos, videos, contacts, data and more between Apple devices.
It is simmilar to bluetooth feature in Android. Make sure both wifi and bluetooth is turned on while sharing any data betwen Apple Devices. Both device are NOT required to be connected to same wifi.
How to access Airdrop
- Open control centre
- Press and hold box which contains aeroplane mode, wifi and bluetooth.
- You will see additional options including Airdrop and Personal hotspot.
- Select Airdrop and choose receiving to contacts only or everyone.
- Your nearby Apple device with airdrop on will be visible.
You can share data by simply cliking on displayed device or contact. Make sure you turn off airdrop as soon as transfer finish.

Transfer between two Mac computers:
Running Mac OS X Lion (10.7) or later
- MacBook Pro: Late 2008 or newer, excluding late 2008 17-inch
- MacBook Air: Late 2010 or newer
- Aluminum MacBook: Late 2008
- MacBook and iMac: Early 2009 or newer
- Mac Mini: Mid 2010 or newer
- Mac Pro: Early 2009 with AirPort Extreme card, or mid 2010 or newer
Transfer between a Mac and an iOS device:
To transfer files between a Mac and an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch
Running OS X Yosemite (10.10) or later:
- MacBook Air: Mid 2012 or newer
- MacBook (Retina): all models
- MacBook Pro: Mid 2012 or newer
- iMac: Late 2012 or newer
- iMac Pro: all models
- Mac Mini: Late 2012 or newer
- Mac Pro: Late 2013 or newer
